About Me

My photo
Pamela Poll
I’ve had a successful career as a freelance magazine and book designer but I’ve always been a wannabe painter. My design teacher in college told me I should be a ‘Sunday painter.’ He saw I had good drawing and painting skills. With the computer revolution, though, I could barely keep ahead of the software upgrades so painting fell by the wayside. About 10 years ago when we moved to Colorado I started taking figure drawing classes (many times over) at the community college to get my drawing skills back. Then came painting and pastel. The upside of a down economy for me has been more time to paint. As my design business slowed down I saw an opportunity to escape being a slave to software. My focus is still life and the western sky. I live on the Colorado prairie, a land of deep blue sky and clouds that take your breath away.
